General Purpose: Performs routine tasks as assigned by the cook in order to meet the daily nutritional needs of the adult and geriatric resident.
To prepare and serve food to people in our facilities.
You will deliver dishes and ensure good sanitary condition in cooking and dining premises.
Dietary services are provided in accordance with facility policies and procedures and in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations to enhance the quality of life.
Essential Position Functions: Perform defined work routines, using various dietary utensils, supplies and equipment as assigned by the Dietary Manager Serve meals using standards to maintain sanitation and quality Meet scheduled meal and snack times Wash dishes and/or utensils according to acceptable standards of practice Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled Transports trash and waste to disposal area Store stock appropriately in order to maintain cleanliness and prevent food spoilage Follow Federal and State long term care regulations and Dietary Department policies and procedures Sanitizes kitchen according to health standards Follow defined Infection Control procedures Complies with all safety instructions and procedures when using chemical substances.
Refers to labels and Safety Data Sheets for instructions.
Keeps all chemicals and cleaning supplies in their original containers.
Asks supervisor for assistance if unsure of proper handling techniques Monitors and reports evidence of rodents or pests to supervisor Monitors workplace for safety and fire hazards and corrects or reports potential problems.
Reports dietary problems including equipment breakdown to immediate supervisor Participates in fire and disaster drills.
In the event of an emergency, carries out assigned duties to assure resident safety.
Must be able to safely perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation Complete assignments timely, completely and accurately Attends survey training and interacts with state surveyors Annually attends all required education programs Maintains and required licensing and/or certifications as required by the State of Connecticut and the Federal government All employees of The Manor will adhere to the facility's code of conduct and will complete other assignments/tasks as required Competency: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Problem Solving Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
