We are a HIGH VOLUME restaurant, and our Cooks are all about that hustle! We keep our heads down, have a no-nonsense attitude, and work together to pump out orders like a well-oiled machine.
As a line cook, you contribute to an impressive guest experience by providing hot, picture-perfect food within 15 minutes per order.
The team supports one another in tasks like keeping the kitchen clean while working, prepping for service, putting away deliveries, and restocking the line.
Patience, previous cooking experience, clear communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic is needed to thrive in this role.
*Responsibilities & Expectations*
* Practice safe food handling and cleanliness at all times.
Wash your hands and clean as you go!
* Move with a high level of pace and intensity; reading tickets, managing multiple orders at the same time, and execute accurate orders within 15 minutes.
* Execute impressive plates.
Prepare picture perfect food by following company recipes consistently and using only quality ingredients cooked just right and never forget the garnish!
* Be a menu maven; have detailed knowledge of portions, ingredients, shelf lives, and potential food allergies to answer any and all questions with confidence and accuracy.
* Set up for success; keep up with side-work before, during and after your shift to maintain smooth workflow and stocked supplies.
Maintain clean, stocked, and organized BOH kitchen stations, dry storage, walk-in’s and freezers at all times
* Use food labels for every container holding food items and follow shelf life procedures.
Record wasted items for food cost tracking.
* Be a team player.
Attend mandatory pre-shift meetings, communicate through the expo position details for orders, follow standard protocol, and share support tasks such as prepping, stocking, and cleaning.
* Clean equipment and tools after every shift by following daily checklists and complete extra cleaning weekly tasks
* Other duties or assignments not listed above but a Manager asks you to do.
*Requirements*
* Must be 18+
* Proven work experience for at least one year as a line cook in a high volume restaurant.
How many plates can you get out in an hour?
* Open availability on weekends (Sat + Sun)
* Can read and write in basic English
* Can work 8-10 hours + on your feet.
* Comfortable handling sharp kitchen knives
* Moves with a high level of pace and intensity
* You can handle food allergens and cleaning chemicals without issue.
* Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to stay calm under pressure
* Attentiveness to detail when food presentation and recipe adherence
