Position Summary:
The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, cleaning, inspecting, and maintaining equipment at transfer stations and material-recovery facilities in a safe and professional manner.
This position is a 2nd shift with the hours of 1:00pm-11:30pm.
Your Role:
Troubleshooting heavy equipment.
Welding
Maintain and repair various types of heavy equipment, diesel motors, and hydraulic systems.
Work all assigned shifts from scheduled start time to scheduled end time.
Take an active role in the improvement of safety and health in the workplace.
Participate in all required Company meetings, including weekly safety meetings.
Other duties as assigned.
Your Skills:
Ability to use a variety of vehicle maintenance tools such as hand tools, electric tools, pneumatic tools, jacking equipment, safety stands, electronic testing equipment.
Ability to receive, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to read and understand parts of service manuals.
Ability to prepare legible and understandable work orders and schedule completion sheets.
Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Driver's License/CDL B is a plus.
ASE Certification
Tow Motor Certification
Air Brakes Certification
Demonstrated mechanical skills.
Must supply own tools.
2-5 years' experience in a transport environment
Gritty, outgoing, and eager to learn.
