Pratt & Whitney Controls & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of military and commercial gas turbine engine control and diagnostic systems.
CDS is responsible for all aspects of Pratt & Whitney engine control and diagnostic system development and support, including requirements analysis & definition, system & software architecture, algorithm design, product software design, verification & validation and engine and flight test support.
The CDS organization is seeking a highly motivated, team oriented, and results driven Senior Engineer to join the Engine System Software organization.
The position is based at the P&W East Hartford facility and is a hybrid role.
Key Responsibilities:
Decompose system level and customer interface requirements into software requirements and designs within an Agile Framework
Conduct iterative prototype testing and reviews of requirements and designs
Perform software verification within the Agile Framework including regression analysis, test case development, test script development and evaluation of results
Participate in Agile ceremonies
Participate in software planning, estimating and tracking per Agile framework
Potential to serve as Agile Scrum Master and/or part of the Development Team
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
5+ years of engineering experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years’ experience.
Must be a U.
S.
Citizen.
This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship
Preferred Qualifications:
Solid track record of achieving results in a technical role
Ability to work in a dynamic, high pressure engineering environment
Prior experience developing software in an Agile framework
Prior safety critical software development experience
Knowledge of regulatory standards such as DO178B
Outstanding cross discipline communication skills
Familiarity with jet engine control and diagnostic system architectures and control logic design
Experience in the Aerospace industry is preferred.
Background in controls, real-time system software, and safety critical work is preferred.
US Security Clearance is preferred; willing to obtain and maintain.
