POSITION TITLE: ACADEMIC TUTOR - GRADES K-3 (21ST CENTURY GRANT FUNDED - NO BENEFITS)
DEPARTMENT: SOUTH SIDE SCHOOL
REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY, AN INDIVIDUAL MUST BE ABLE TO PERFORM EACH ESSENTIAL DUTY SATISFACTORILY.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Applicant must be CT Certified in Elementary Education
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with IOs and I OOs.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Basic knowledge and experience of computer hardware and software applications.
Ability to run a report from a website.
Basic knowledge of how to sign students into a website and navigate a website.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community.
Ability to perform duties with awareness of district requirements and Board of Education policies.

This employee will work throughout the school building, on school grounds and occasionally off campus.
The intern is responsible for the safety and wellbeing of students in his/her charge.
SALARY: 21st Century Grant funded; $31.
15/hour
WORK HOURS: Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday, 3:45 - 5:00pm
DATE OF SERVICE: As soon as possible.
