The candidate is responsible for timely ordering of premium audits and assists in monitoring of vendor performance.
Order premium audits through our preferred vendors providing appropriate documentation needed in a timely manner.
Assists manager in reviewing audit documentation received to support the reporting of payrolls for our workers compensation insurance policies.
May be called upon to assist in ordering Auto or GL policy audits as required.
Assists in processing or providing direction to Underwriting Assistants and/or Operations Support Analysts on applicability of rules for Workers Compensation or other Property/Casualty policies using PAAS, NCCI, and ISO as resources.
Recognizes risk changes and refers to underwriting.
Assists in response to agent inquiries or Insured disputes, follows dispute resolution process to completion.
Strives to deliver audits processed in a concise timely manner.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Validate insured's business operation, including examining and verifying pertinent classification-related data from financial/business records provided by vendor.
Order inspections, premium audits, and loss runs as required.
Performs reconciliation of data in Paragon systems from time to time.
Escalates issues to manager, prepares or recommends solutions.
Ensure quality of the audit through proper risk classification and exposure basis information.
Utilizes expiration and cancellation reports to maintain timely audit orders to vendor.
Responds to inquiries (i.
e.
, agents and insureds) and internal customers (i.
e.
, underwriting, policy processing, claims and accounting) with information to assist in their understanding of audit-related matters, including audit vouchers, procedures, and worksheets.
Remains informed of changes and current information relative to premium auditing through independent rating bureaus, NCCI, or ISO industry notifications.
Responsible to alert management of potential fraud situations.
Responsible to notify Underwriting, Underwriting Operations and Systems of impactful changes to systems, book of business, or processes.
Reviews vendor invoices for accuracy.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree or equivalent work experience
5 years workers compensation experience with exposure to and understanding of final audited earned premium.
Familiar with NCCI and Independent Bureau Basic underwriting manuals
GL and Auto audit experience a plus
Strong customer orientation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently; excellent organizational skills required.
Proficient use of personal computers, software applications, MS Office, and ability to manipulate data quickly and accurately, partnering with internal IT or Systems resources for management reporting.
Insurance designations a plus.
