1964 Gibson Firebird one.
Previous headstock break.
It was repaired and refinished at the same time? Has had a tremolo tailpiece at one time, maybe more than one, very hard to show in photo's.
Most holes look to have been plugged with wood.
4 tiny holes near bottom and 4 larger near wrap around.
Actually it looks like the Johnny Winter reissue that Gibson sells now.
Also looks to have had a different pickup.
maybe a P-90?.
You can see where at least 3 of the tuners lined up with the headstock cracks and probably got loose at the screws and they just shifted them.
Also tuners look to be newer.
I have owned this for 3 years and headstock is stable and stays in tune.
serial number visable thru paint 153xxx.
Nut looks original, looks to have been refretted with original style wire.
Beautiful Brazilian board, Its loud unplugged, Pickup is a Gibson with Pat.
Pend stamped in baseplate like another for sale on this site.
Tailpiece original but studs are long nickel replacements.
Pickguard not correct, only has 7
screw holes, but 8th hole under guard, Knobs original but pots are newer and input jack original.
back cover original.
Has a bunch of finish checking mostly on front.
Has dings, scratches, non original case, but its a Gibson.
truss rod works, cover original, Ask all and any questions before purchase.
This is a project to play as is or restore.
It plays good, sounds great.
They aren't making 1964 anymore.
I would love someone to stop by here in Connecticut to try and buy in person.
This is for the player not collector.
selling at a custom shop price.
May be open to partial trade for other guitars plus cash on your end.
