CCAT is looking for a *Technical Instructor *for Digital Manufacturing to join our *Digital Thread Manufacturing Training Team* to drive adoption of model-based definition (MBD), digital thread, and digital manufacturing practices into the manufacturing supply base by conducting a mix of classroom, virtual, and experiential hands-on training.
This role will be hired at the *Assistant, Full, Lead, or Senior* level dependent upon experience.
At CCAT, the Technical Instructor will be responsible for delivering training related to digital manufacturing and digital thread practices to manufacturing companies and their personnel.
The Technical Instructor will also work with the Chief Training Officer (CTRO), software and hardware training providers, and in-house subject matter experts (SME’s) to develop and deliver the curriculum.
The Technical Instructor will be based out of CCAT’s regional Digital Thread Manufacturing Training Facility located in East Hartford, Connecticut.
CCAT will provide some training to the individual on digital thread manufacturing best practices.

*Responsibilities* * Provide dynamic teaching, training, and assessments that require advanced knowledge of digital manufacturing and the use of advanced technologies in manufacturing.
* Conduct formal classroom training on digital manufacturing, model-based design, and digital thread technologies and applications including, but not limited to: * Developing MBD files from existing CAD models and drawings * Performing computer aided design (CAD) for advanced aerospace and defense components using Siemens NX.
* Programming for computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) using Siemens NX CAM software.
* Performing software and digital workflows, methods, and procedures that automate design, manufacturing, and quality assurance programming.
* Programming for industrial and manufacturing equipment.
* Use of AR/VR equipment that supports training of digital manufacturing methods and learning.
* Use of additive manufacturing technologies.
* Performing data analytics and decision-making for manufacturing.
* Performing information technology (IT) and industrial internet of things (IIoT) setup and operation for smart manufacturing.
* Demonstrating interoperability of models and data on a Siemens PLM platform.
* Performing data-driven production planning.
* Prepares, reviews, and customizes curriculum lesson plans and instructor guides to support traditional classroom and virtual online teaching.
* Supports course reviews and curriculum updates, conducts training gap analysis, and provides formal feedback and recommendations for course improvements.
* Establishes and reviews course content and objectives.
* Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.
* Conducts dynamic assessments of students’ learning in the classroom or on-site.
* Maintains records of training activities, participant progress, and program effectiveness.
* Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
* Partner with CCAT’s subject matter experts (SME’s) and Chief Training Officer (CTRO) to continuously improve the training offerings and strategy for the Digital Thread Manufacturing Laboratory.
*Required Skills and Knowledge* * Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in technical field related to manufacturing.
_Note: total experience can be considered for degree substitution.
_ * 3-4 years’ experience working in design, manufacturing, or inspection-quality assurance environments or shop operations as a designer, technician, operator, programmer, supervisor, or engineer.
* Familiar with basic manufacturing concepts and processes necessary for machining, sheet metal forming, casting, forging, and processing of complex naval and aerospace parts.
* Experience troubleshooting quality issues in manufacturing performing root cause and corrective actions.
* 1-2 years’ experience in teaching or training in a technical or manufacturing environment.
* Experience using CAD, CAM, or CMM software packages.
* Microsoft Office Suite skills.
* Strong technical writing, communication, interpersonal, and time management skills *Preferred Skills and Knowledge* * 5 years’ experience and expertise in technical training and curriculum development.
* Experience performing Model-Based Definition (MBD) and digital thread methods related to design, manufacturing, manufacturing execution, quality, and digital supply chain engineering.
This includes MBD file validation and MBD-based costing and procurement.
* Experience using specialized digital thread software for model and data file interoperability.
* Experience using Siemens digital engineering and manufacturing software.
* Experience working with PLM and CAD interoperable files formats (STEP, QIF, etc.
) * Experience developing manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods conferring with engineering functions.
* Experience in manufacturing decision-making activities and providing process improvement, cost reduction and automation.
* Experience performing continuous improvement of manufacturing standard work.
* Experience providing manufacturing technical support to manufacturers.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $80,000.
00 - $95,000.
