Loureiro has an immediate opening for a Health & Safety Manager to join our team in Plainville, CT.
This position’s primary responsibility will be the acting focal point for Safety support within Loureiro Engineering and its wholly owned subsidiaries.
As the HS Manager, you will be required to assist in the development and sustainment of safety programs and policy.
This includes ensuring compliance with all corporate, local, state, and federal health and safety requirements in an office or field.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Acts as the Health and Safety support on projects and other business unit related issues to maintain H&S standards both internally and while in the field supporting our clients.
Verify H&S compliance standards are met or exceeded on engineering, construction, remediation, and operations activities.
Evaluate and assess the applicability of safety procedures and policies for the benefit of employees and clients.
Research and implement new material handling processes with respect to safety.
Analyze and implement corrective actions for audit findings in the field.
Ensures managers and supervisors have the appropriate safety and health; accident prevention; and investigation training as well as PPE.
Document and analyze accident reports and evaluate injury case studies based on available facts.
Accurate maintenance of OSHA logs and recordkeeping.
Research environmental regulations and policies and institute changes to ensure compliance.
Track incident metrics, findings.
Perform activities such as completing reports, conducting safety conversations, and complying with additional reporting as necessary.
May be asked to perform HS for clients as well on a case-by-case basis when the EHS Division requires surge capacity.
Requirements: 3-5 years’ experience in Health & Safety, construction industry preferred.
Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in safety and occupational health).
Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA standards and recordkeeping along with EPA standards with regard to construction and reporting requirements.
Demonstrated accident investigation experience.
Demonstrated construction safety auditing and experience with Medical Monitoring Demonstrated experience training both bargaining unit employees and salary professionals.
OSHA train trainer certifications and CHST Certification are preferred.
Must have a valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
Excellent organizational skills.
Proficient in both field work and administrative work (20% field / 80% administrative).
