As a CNC Grinder Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) grinding machines to produce precision components with accurate dimensions and surface finishes.
This role requires a strong understanding of CNC machining principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with tight tolerances.
Responsibilities:
* Set up and operate CNC grinding machines to grind external and/or internal surfaces of metal workpieces to specified dimensions and surface finish
* Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job orders to determine grinding requirements
* Program CNC machines using G-code or conversational programming languages to specify grinding parameters and tool paths
* Select appropriate grinding wheels, dressing tools, and coolant systems for each job
* Mount workpieces securely on machine fixtures or chucks and align them with machine axes
* Load and unload workpieces into CNC machine using overhead cranes, forklifts, or other material handling equipment
* Monitor machining operations and make necessary adjustments to machine settings and tooling to maintain part conformity and optimize production efficiency
* Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, and CMMs to inspect workpieces for accuracy and quality
* Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC grinding machines, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged components
* Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
* Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in CNC machining preferred
* Proven experience as a CNC Grinder Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment
